Surf Shop Blahs

I’m working at the surf shop today. It’s the slow season between spring break season and high summer season so this particular season of me being in the surf shop all day is just a boring season. I sold one board today - not bad for having one customer! Just kidding! Wax will be selling off the shelves soon cuz the surf will be up tomorrow.

I brought my husband, Eric’s board in to get repaired today. The nose was broken on our nephew’s first surfing adventure in the shore-break near our house recently. Spring swells are fun, so hopefully he won’t miss too much time in the cool water before the gulf turns into a steamy bathtub.

Eric and our son Skyler will be traveling to California in May for a father/son surf trip. Besides shortboarding EVERYWHERE in SoCal, Skyler wants to longboard (which he is really good at - he has style, man) in Malibu. I can’t wait for them to have this experience together. My daughter, Michaela and I did a surf trip to Cali 2 summers ago and had the time of our lives trekking down the cliffs to get great surf (I thought I was going to die a few times), hitting every known surf spot known to mankind, bartering in Tijuana, eating tons of Mexican food and getting our nails done. Eric and Skyler will skip out on the trip to Tijuana. (he thinks pedicures are a must on any vacation)
